There are so many reasons why you may want your client to keep an ongoing food log. But calorie-counting apps have drowned out the intention behind a lot of the reasons. Yes, there are some apps that allow your patients to keep a food record with out the calories but a lot of these require subscriptions, are not user friendly, or just not intersting to your patient! There is just something simple about a pen and paper. 

The daily food journal allows your client to:

  • Record their quantity and quality of sleep
  • Utilize the hunger scale at each meal
  • Track their post-meal symptoms
  • Note their mood around eating
