It can be difficult to know how to introduce yourself to a referring provider to gain prospective clients.
Here is the letter I use for my HAES practice specializing in eating disorders/disordered eating. I have had great success establishing referral networks with PCPs and other allied healthcare professionals by including this letter of introduction with my resources.
This letter gets specific about
- My Credentials
- Types of clients I treat
- How I can improve patients’ outcomes
- Information about access in my practice
- Types of services I provide
The most helpful thing I have found is detailing for the PCP exactly how you will improve your patients outcomes. This tells them the type of client they should be referring to and parameters of care to expect from you.
