  • Iron and Anemia for Teens (El hierro y la anemia en la adolescencia) – an introductory handout that explains the role of iron in the body, common causes and symptoms of anemia, and common treatments for anemia, including nutrition and medical interventions.
  • Iron-Rich Food List (Alimentos con alto contenido de hierro) – A list of animal and plant-based iron sources, serving sizes, and the amount of iron per serving in milligrams. Also includes examples of Vitamin C-rich foods and Iron+Vitamin C food pairings to maximize absorption.
  • Iron-Rich Snacks List (Refrigerios ricos en hierro) – A supplemental list of common snack foods, such as crackers, nuts, and instant ramen, serving sizes, and amount of iron per serving in milligrams. Also includes a nutrition label highlighting where to find iron. 
  • Iron Supplements (Suplemento de hierro) – An informational handout discussing iron supplements, including common instructions for taking iron supplements and recommendations for avoiding upset stomach or constipation.

Handouts are ready-to-use and feature a blue-green color scheme, teen-friendly, gender-neutral language and offer age-appropriate explanations and examples throughout.
