How to Train Your DON (Long-term Care), Part 2

Short on time and patience in the LTC setting? Do you find yourself re-educating your DON and other staff over and over? These are 3 handy handouts that can be used as mini posters or in-services in the LTC setting. I don’t suggest sending all 3 to your DON at once. They tend to be overwhelmed. However, 1 a month will demonstrate to your DON that you can help educate his/her staff and prevent potential surveyor tags. I’ve been using these at my facilities for over a year and have received excellent reviews on how helpful they are to educating staff. These are black and white images because I’ve found that facilities do not have the resources for colored ink. You could encourage printing on different colored paper to add interest.
