I have had a lot of clients tell me that want to start running again! They say something like this.. “I used to really enjoy running, I want to start doing it again, but it has been so long, I don’t know where to start!”. I  wanted to do something more beyond encouragement. I am not a personal trainer, and definitely stay in my scope of practice, but I was a college athlete and have great familiarity with creating training programs.

I decided to try my hand at creating a couch to 5K program that is accessible for anyone! This is an 8-week program that follows the on-a-day, rest-a-day model. If your client is e a novice to running they can start at week-one and do all 8 weeks. Someone who is more confident in their abilities may start off at weeks 2 or 3 in the program! 

This guide comes with a habit tracker to help your client hold themselves accountable to the program. It is also a way for you to check in and monitor their progress! I always encourage my client to schedule a 5K run at the end of their 8 weeks. They find this super fun and motivating.
