  • Hydration for Teen Athletes (Hidratación para Atletas): One side of this handout features hydration recommendations for before, during, and after athletic activity alongside generalized hydration recommendations for non-athletic activities. The handout also features a explanation of beverage that are not ideal for hydration, and a brief list of symptoms of dehydration. 
  • Fueling for Teen Athletes (Refrigerios para Atletas): The reverse side of this handout includes recommendations for fueling before, during, and after athletic activity. The handout includes a list of common “Sweet and Salty Carbohydrate Snacks” and “High Protein Snacks” as examples to use when selecting snacks for before, during, and after athletic activity. 

These ready-to-use, English and Spanish handouts feature a blue/green color scheme, teen-friendly, and weight-neutral language, and offers age-appropriate explanations and examples throughout.
