This is an educational, empowering and eye-opening 24-slide presentation on mental health, nutrition and how the two are directly connected to one another. It is really wonderful for mental health month, but honestly at any time of the year. We have used this presentation for various populations, especially in the corporate world where burn out is at an all time high. This is also a helpful presentation when working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, difficulty with work/life balance and feel too overwhelmed to even touch on nutrition.
The presentation covers how our nutritional status and physical health can be affected by sleep, stress, mood, lifestyle/schedule, exercise and hydration. The powerpoint goes into depth (scientifically and practically) about each of these topics to help the audience understand the what, why and what to do!
The goal is to simplify and “un”-simplify why we do what we do! It is not always “just about the food”… as dietitians we need to understand the other factors that affect how individuals feed themselves so we can best empower our clients.
