The plant-based diet has been proven to aid in reversing plaque buildup and manage heart disease and diabetes. However, over my years of working as an RDN and helping clients transition to a plant based diet, I have recognized that most clients replace their animal protein with simple carbohydrates that can have negative effects on their health. Especially if they have diabetes.

To help other professionals help their clients transition over to a plant based diet, I have shared my “cheat sheet” for healthcare professionals.

Common problems professionals & clients face when transitioning to plant based:

  1. Feel overwhelmed!
  2. Not meet protein needs due to replacing their animal protein with simple carbohydrates
  3. Don’t know how to replace animal protein with vegetable proteins (or navigate the brands)
  4. Choosing simple carbohydrates high in sugar
  5. Overeat from undereating fiber and protein
  6. Complain of high glucose spikes with Diabetes this is related to their knowledge deficit in regards to fiber
