A must for eating disorder recovery and intuitive eating is accepting and respecting the inherent diversity of body sizes as outlined in a Health At Every Size Approach®.

Help clients normalize and accept body size diversity and understand that weight does not equate to health.

With these handouts, clients will learn the difference between correlation vs causation and why there is greater disease amongst individuals with larger bodies (weight cycling, weight stigma, and discrimination) with an explanation on how each contributes to increased risk of disease.

The problematic and racist history of the BMI scale is explained and why it is an inappropriate tool to evaluate health. This demonstrates that there is no calculation to determine a healthy weight, and rather, a healthy weight is based on each person’s unique genetic make up and body’s wisdom.
