Let’s be honest… as dietitians, we HATE making meal plans. They take too much time and effort and aren’t always utilized anyways. Enter: The EASIEST beginner step-by-step guide to meal planning. This guide is geared towards beginners looking to learn the ropes of meal planning in a simple, straight forward way. The guide provides instructions for each step along the way as well as examples for each step of the process. There is space for you to complete your first meal plan as you follow along with the guide as well as blank templates to use once you get the hang of it. This guide was created in the landscape orientation and is meant to be printed and binded (or stapled) together, however works great as an electronic meal planner and can be used either way. I do have some suggestions based on which format you choose:

Using the electronic guide: Included with your purchase are two PDF documents, one that contains the entire meal planning guide and another that includes just the blank weekly meal planning and grocery list template. I recommend saving the templates into a “meal planning” folder on your computer and using the “save as” function whenever you create a new meal plan so you can keep a copy of all your previous plans to use as a reference. If you are looking for JUST the PDF fillable or printable templates, check out my other listings.

Using the printed guide: The guide was designed to be printed double-sided on short edge. Make sure and print in the landscape orientation. I recommend printing off additional copies of pages 16 and 17 (or using the second document that comes with your purchase) and keeping them either attached to the guide or in a folder to use for future meal planning references. I do recommend printing the guide and breaking out those colorful pens to make the meal planning process fun and creative!
