These Food Pairing worksheets help clinicians and clients structure food exposures using familiarity as a bridge to new foods. The worksheets use a simple plate-based visual layout that allows clients to actively participate in treatment planning while reducing overwhelm and uncertainty.
Two versions are included to support different readiness levels:
Preferred Food Anchor (Higher Challenge)
The client writes one preferred food on the main plate and identifies up to six novel foods to pair with it. This encourages steady expansion of variety while maintaining a sense of safety and predictability.
Novel Food Support (Gentler Approach)
The client chooses one novel food and lists six preferred foods that could be paired with it. This approach reduces anxiety and helps the client approach the new food with support rather than isolation.
