"Rumination Disorder: A Mini Course for Dietitians" listing image

Rumination disorder (also known as rumination syndrome) is one of the more commonly misunderstood feeding and eating disorder diagnoses. Clients commonly describe the behaviors associated with rumination disorder as “automatic,” “involuntary,” or “accidental,” which leads many dietitians to feeling unsure how to treat this specific diagnosis.

In this self-paced 1 hour webinar, dietitians will learn:

  • differences between regurgitation and rumination,
  • factors that impact the maintenance of rumination disorder,
  • physical, psychological, and social consequences of ruminating behaviors,
  • strategies for treating rumination disorder, and
  • important considerations when evaluating treatment progress.

Dietitians will also be provided with sample assessment questions for evaluating for rumination disorder, tools to use in session with clients, and resources for further learning about rumination disorder.

The slide deck used in the webinar is included.
