Do you have patients on coumadin/warfarin asking for a list of low vitamin K foods they can eat? Here’s a list to get them started!
No one wants to be given a list of foods they can’t eat. Instead give them a list of foods they CAN eat.

This handout provides a list of low vitamin K and their amounts (under 50 mcg per serving) from fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and beverages. It also explains how much someone taking coumadin should be consuming daily and answers the question if cooking changes the amount of vitamin K.

Your patients will benefit from having this list that they can refer to when trying to follow a low vitamin K diet to keep their INR in the appropriate range while taking coumadin.
