Understanding the pyramid of food needs that are often unmet in folks with ADHD is essential to supporting those who struggle with food and eating. Each layer represents a food need that must be attended to before moving up to the next food need listed. At the top of the pyramid is gentle nutrition, which is possible when all the other fundamental food needs are met or are being attended to in some way.
