Most people know that the Paleo diet is based on eating as close as possible to our ancestors, which is considered to include foods that are easy-to-digest/absorb by the body. As an unofficial but extremely effective “diet”, the Paleo plan has many versions available in the media (sometimes written by un-credentialed authors). Wouldn’t you rather have an RD’s blessing on your handout?
Highlights of my version of the Paleo diet include:

Emphasis on low-carbohydrate, moderate protein (not unlimited!), and higher healthy fats

Inclusion of grass-fed/organic animal products, organic produce, nuts & seeds, healthy fats, and healthy versions of processed foods

Exclusion of legumes, grains, dairy and highly processed foods including vegetable oils

How to use the plan as a detox or long-term food plan with or without modifications to suite
